Funerals

To hear the lone piper playing a lament can be an extremely deep and touching experience. The sound of the pipes is tremendously distinct and can evoke emotions from deep within.  It is no wonder that for hundreds of years there has been the tradition of pipers performing at funerals for heads of state, royalty, veterans and beloved family members.

Tom specializes in funeral and graveside services and would be privileged to honour the memory of your loved one with the majestic sound of the pipes. If you have never used a bagpiper for a funeral service, or are unfamiliar with the practices of pipers, the following format is most suitable.  Tom will be happy to accomodate to any of your preferences.

  1. Piper plays as the funeral procession arrives at church, as the casket is taken into church, and guests enter.
  2. Piper plays as casket is taken to hearse and as guests return to their vehicles.
  3. Piper plays as guests gather at the cemetery.
  4. Piper plays as the casket is carried to the graveside.
  5. Piper plays 'Amazing Grace' or another requested tune after graveside prayer.
